Jay-Z Addresses Potential Verzuz Battle, ‘No One Can Stand On That Stage With Me’

For the past few years, Jay-Z has maintained a low-key life and rarely makes appearances on social media. However, when he decides to speak, the New York rapper guarantees to be trending afterward. On Tuesday, he addressed a potential Verzuz matchup on Twitter.

Hov, 52, took to social media to support Alicia Keys as she promoted her new album “Keys,” and the Verzuz topic surfaced. The newly Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee mentioned fellow New York rapper Jadakiss and his infamous performance with The Lox and Dipset, declaring it as one of the best performances of 2021. However, his statements regarding a hit-for-hit battle against another artist went viral, with his name trending on social media, The Shade Room reported

.

He sparked conversations on Twitter, stating that “No one can stand on that stage with me” regarding a Verzuz matchup. “It’s not a chance in hell that anyone can stand on that stage with me. You gotta stand in front of the Grammy Family Freestyle live?”

The conversation was live-tweeted on TIDAL, as they made sure to document every word the legendary rapper had to say.

Fans tweeted their opinions regarding a Verzuz matchup and who could battle the New York rapper. One user said, “As a southern girl, a 80s baby, a child of the 99 and the 2000, raised on both Wayne and Jay-Z, Lil Wayne ain’t beating Jay in a Verzuz. God bless.”

While putting all Verzuz talk to an end, “The Blueprint” rapper also discussed his wife Beyoncé and the constant comparisons with the late Michael Jackson.

“Bey’s gonna be mad at this for saying this, but Michael Jackson never had a Coachella. She’s an evolution of him because she watched him at 9. And [the kids are] the same. Hov also brought up Coachella and posed the question, “Find me a concert that’s as culturally relevant and thrilling as Coachella?” Hov continued to praise his wife, declaring that Beyonce would become one of the best singers we have ever heard because she is such a student.
