Janet Jackon is ending the year on a positive note as she debuted a new hairstyle on social media.
The 55-year-old showed off blue and black braids in an up-do with her hair shaved on both sides of her head. She posted the photo on her Instagram account with the caption, “I luv and miss u guys so much!!! 💖💙 HAPPY HOLIDAYS 💖💙.”
As an artist, Jackson has been known to push the envelope with her creativity in her music and the visual aspects. The “All For You” artist recently dished
in an exclusive interview with Allure on Dec.17, sharing the secrets and behind-the-scenes action with her music videos from the past. In addition, she shared some of the most surprising truths about her videos that even the most dedicated fans wouldn’t know.In the classic ’90s music video for Busta Rhymes, “What’s It Gonna Be?” Jackson’s extended false eyelashes were made from rooster feathers. While her shaped red hair in “Together Again” was sculpted by hand using wire. She also confessed that she wasn’t aware of what the letters or numbers on the T-shirt from “The Pleasure Principle” video meant, Allure reported.
As the music icon opened up about some of her most memorable moments on the set of her videos, she shared the most shocking revelation about the 1995 hit, “Scream,” as she featured
on the track with her late brother Michael Jackson. The music video is the most costly video of all time, amounting to $7 million, all of which came directly out of Michael’s pocket. Yet, as legendary as it was, the hair, makeup, and wardrobe had to compliment the artists’ creativity without having a budget. The late makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin achieved the desired look both Michael and Jackson were looking for while sampling an inspiration from Japanese culture — specifically anime.“It was fun getting in the studio and dancing together, because we hadn’t done that since I was kid,” she continued. “We used to dance together all the time, that was a great deal of fun.”
She added, “I played the role that I’ve always played
