Janet Hubert, the only “Aunt Viv” we acknowledge, is set to star in an upcoming Netflix film called The Perfect Find, Black Enterprise reported. The consummate actress is giving Gabrielle Union her flowers for helping secure her next bag.
As most people know, Hubert left the 90s sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, after she and Will Smith had a series of misunderstandings. Unfortunately, her name was marred in the industry after Smith’s words made other casting decision-makers shun her. They managed to hash out their difference in a reunion special late last year, with Smith admitting that he made her life on set difficult.
For a long time, Janet Hubert virtually disappeared from the screen except for episodic appearances in small parts due to her reputation. But, now, things are looking up.
Hubert posted her obvious elation over the new film and thanked Union for choosing her to be a part of the cast.
“Baby what a great time, a great team! Ms. Gabrielle Union I thank you for letting me join your incredible production. You are gracious, giving, kind and such a joy to work with! Joining this PERFECT CAST is a Blacktress’s joy! #BlackExcellence,” Hubert wrote.

Hubert with be joined by other notable Black actresses such as Gina Torres and Aisha Hinds. LaLa Anthony is also slated to be a part of the Netflix rom-com.
Janet Hubert began her career in 1981 on Broadway and is an immense talent that the world should never be deprived of again. We will all be tuning in the moment it is released.
