Netflix has decided to cancel Jamie Foxx’s latest sitcom Dad Stop Embarrassing Me, after its first season, Deadline reported.
Premiering on the streaming platform this past April 14, the show was based on Jamie and his relationship with his daughter, model-actress Corinne Foxx, throughout her teenage years. And though some were excited to tune in for laughs, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me was reportedly met with harsh reviews and low ratings.
Produced by the father and daughter duo, the eight-episode comedy series starred Jamie himself alongside comedian David Allen Grier, Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn’s Kyla Drew Simmons and Porsha Coleman, who also worked alongside Jamie for his 2021 sports drama film All-Star Weekend, set to premiere later this year.

Corinne, 27, said to Forbes about working with her dad to produce the show, “It was a really big learning experience because I was the youngest and the only female producer on the show. I was stepping into these rooms with Netflix executives, with people who were seasoned and had these long careers,”

Jamie also works with his daughter to host Beat Shazam, a game show where contestants race against the clock to name a song.
Following the Netflix debut of Dad Stop Embarrassing Me, the sitcom was met with a number of unfavorable reviews, including a 25% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It was also met with low ratings, Fansided
reported, likely leading to the cancelation. According to Deadline, Jamie was reportedly in a mutual decision to end the show after its first season.Jamie, who’s alleged to be dating New York model Dana Caprio, is now focusing on his upcoming projects. The Oscar-winning actor will play Electro in this December’s Marvel film Spider-Man: No Way Home and is also set to play Spawn in an upcoming reboot.
