The youngest daughter of notable life coach Iyanla Vanzant, Nisa Vanzant, has died.

Iyanla posted the announcement to her Instagram page on Sunday, July 30.

“It is with great sorrow that we announce the transition of Nisa Vanzant, the youngest daughter of our beloved Iyanla Vanzant,” Iyanla’s heartbreaking announcement read. “We are asking for your prayers. Please respect the privacy of her and her family at this time. Thank you.”

Partisans flocked to her comments to offer their condolences to the entire Vanzant family. 

Jada Pinkett-Smith’s mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, wrote, “Sincere condolences to the entire family.”

“I’m so sorry for your loss! I’m going to continue to keep you and your family in prayer, my friend,” Celebrity stylist Derrick Rutledge commented.

“Lord have mercy, my heart hurts for you reading this, and I am praying for strength and comfort for you. I am so very sorry,” fellow life coach Valorie Burton said.

Standup comedian Judi Love wrote, “Lord, please somehow place peace in the family hearts. This is just truly heartbreaking. I pray that you have strength at this devastating time.”

Although there aren’t many details surrounding Nisa’s death, she “transitioned” in her late 40s.

Her oldest son, Damon “Bware” Vanzant, is her sole living child. While he hasn’t said anything about his sister’s death, he shared Iyanla’s post on his Instagram Story.

Prior to the news of Nisa’s death, Iyanla posted a clip of her attending

the Black Tie Cinematic Symphony with gospel singers Yolanda Adams and Donald Lawrence, composer Leon Lacey and pastor A.R. Bernard.

In 2003, the Brooklyn-bred and former Philadelphia public defender grieved the loss of her middle child, Gemmia Vanzant, who died from a rare form of colon cancer.

Although Gemmia’s death was brutal for Iyanla, she shared that the tragedy taught her valuable life lessons. 

“God must’ve really, really trusted me to give me a soul to bring into life and to trust me with the courage to send her out,” the New York Times Best-Selling author said during an interview on Today show anchor Hoda Kotb’s podcast, Making Space With Hoda Kotb.
