Former Young & The Restless star Shemar Moore is expecting a little girl.

The 52-year-old actor shared the news on an upcoming episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show on January 26. Hudson’s team dropped the one-and-half-minute teaser on Youtube on Monday. 

“I’m Shemar Moore, and I’m 52-and-half years old,” he said, introducing himself. “My mother is in heaven right now, and it’ll be her three-year anniversary February 8th….”

 After a reflective pause, the Criminal Minds actor continued, “And on February 8th, I’m making one of her dreams come true. Because in real life, Shemar Moore is about to be a daddy!”

His beloved mother, Marylin Joann Wilson-Moore, died in 2020.

Jennifer screamed with delight upon hearing the good news about Shemar’s first baby.

“Ohhhhhh! Congratulations! That’s news,” she said. “And yo mama gone be so proud, smiling at you from heaven.”

“I’m so excited; I’m so excited,” he said, smiling. “I’m sorry she can’t be here. I was worried for a while. I thought, maybe that ship had sailed, and, you know, God had my back and things lined up. My life is pretty grand. I know once God calls my name– I’ll be able to go to heaven whole.”

Jennifer segued to a commercial.

She also shared the clip on Twitter, where Shemar was met with warm wishes and love. Fans congratulated the actor on his new baby.

“We’re kicking off a big week with some even bigger news… @shemarmoore is going to be a dad! He stopped by last week, and the news was too good to keep to ourselves! Shemar, we’re sending you so much love as you kick off this new chapter!“

 

Via Instagram, Shemar posted a reel of his baby shower and gender reveal. 

The Monday post contained a video of family, friends, the child’s mother and an excited Shemar anticipating the sex of their new baby.

“Mama’s smiling from Heaven 🕊. Miracles happen … Here comes the BEST part of my life ❤️‍,” he wrote in the caption.

 

A helicopter released pink smoke, revealing that the 52-year-old actor is having a baby girl!
