Italian police reportedly seized cocaine from Denzel Washington’s The Equalizer 3 film set after the head caterer died of a heart attack.
According to Variety, police in Maiori, Italy have seized over 100 grams of cocaine from caterers for the upcoming Denzel Washington movie The Equalizer 3. Italian newspaper Il Giornale reported that Carabinieri officers raided the film crew’s hotel rooms after its head of catering died of a heart attack on Nov. 31. Several packages of cocaine were found on the man’s person, which prompted the cops to conduct a search.
During the raid, police seized 120 grams of cocaine and arrested two other caterers on alleged drug dealing charges. A third catering team member had his driver’s license confiscated when he was discovered to be in possession of cocaine. However, it’s still unknown if the incident will affect The Equalizer 3‘s production.
The Equalizer 3 is reportedly Washington and director Antoine Fuqua’s fifth collaboration, which began its principal photography on the Amalfi Coast last month. Filming is reportedly expected to continue until late November while production is set to move to Naples in December and Rome in January 2023.
