Micheal B. Jordan recently worked with actress-model Lauren London on Without Remorse, a gritty action thriller about a NAVY Seal on the hunt for revenge following the murder of his pregnant wife, who London plays in the film. Released this past April, the movie is based on the 1993 Tom Clancy novel of the same name.
While on Jemele Hill’s “Unbothered” podcast this past week, the Black Panther star opened up about what it was like to work with London, who recently lost her boyfriend and child’s father Nipsey Hussle to gun violence in 2019.
Mentioning the actress’ transparency surrounding grief and loss, Jordan stated that London sharing her own story helped him “get to a certain place as a character.”

“I think it was very emotional,” he stated on “Unbothered.” “I think we wanted to be aware and sensitive of that and how we shot some of those scenes. But also, her sharing her experience with me and having pretty lengthy conversations around grief, and suffering and what that looks and feels like, really helped me get to a certain place as a character.”
“She was really transparent about that. And I’m extremely grateful for that,” Jordan continued, adding, “She’s very talented and has so much to give. So, you know, wanting this to be a little therapeutic for her. You know, as an artist sometimes, this is like our space to like vent and to like express ourselves in a certain type of way,”
“And she felt like it was time for her to do that. So it just kind of lined up like where she was in her life, this project, and yeah, it all kind of lined up.”
Without Remorse is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
