In the midst of a bitter divorce battle with singer and actress Teyana Taylor, former NBA player Iman Shumpert has managed to notch a small win in the courtroom.
Recent reports suggest that Shumpert’s legal team successfully argued for parenting time with his daughters, Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr. and Rue Rose Shumpert, securing 4 to 6 days per month to spend with them.
The courtroom drama unfolded during a hearing, where Iman’s lawyer made a compelling case for the ex-NBA star’s right to be an active presence in his daughters’ lives.
The judge granted him parenting time, with the stipulation that he must pick up the children from Taylor’s residence and return them there after their designated time together. While this temporary arrangement might seem like a small victory for Shumpert, Taylor will maintain primary custody of their daughters, and they will celebrate Christmas with her.

This temporary parenting agreement will remain in effect until the judge reaches a final decision on the custody arrangement, which continues to be a focal point of contention in their ongoing divorce proceedings.
The split between Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert after seven years of marriage made headlines earlier this year. What’s particularly intriguing is Taylor’s assertion that infidelity wasn’t the driving force behind their separation.
She took to Instagram to address the matter, writing, “This will be the FIRST and LAST time I speak on this matter.” Taylor emphasized her commitment to maintaining her family’s privacy and criticized the leaking of private court documents to the public.
Taylor’s divorce filing in January sought primary custody of their children along with child support. In her petition, she argued that she had been the primary caregiver for their daughters since their births and that it was in the children’s best interests to live with her. Taylor also made allegations about the quality of care provided when the children were with Shumpert, stating that they often appeared “disheveled” and weren’t properly fed during his custodial time.
Additionally, Taylor accused Shumpert of being an overly jealous partner, claiming manipulation during instances of outbursts, infidelity scandals, and even a DUI arrest.
For now, Shumpert has secured a slice of parenting time, while the courtroom drama continues to unfold.
