‘I’m Coming For That Ass’: Woman Pastor Defended By Deitrick Haddon And Fred Hammond For Calling Out ‘Prophetess’ Who Tried To Interfere With Her Marriage During A Sunday Service

A pastor in Charlotte, North Carolina, went viral after calling out a woman she claimed tried to interfere with her marriage during last week’s sermon. Two well-known gospel singers defended the pastor, Deitrick Haddon and Fred Hammond.

Pastor Jameliah Gooden showed churchgoers and the internet that she doesn’t play when it comes to her husband. During a Sunday service last week, Gooden got candid about the hell she went through that week after a homewrecker tried the pastor and not Jesus.

“I never knew I could go through so much hell, Trina. There was a woman from Atlanta that tried to come in between me and my husband,” she said in a viral video. “This woman says she’s a prophetess and got a word from my husband. I said naw, you ain’t got a word for him. You got a word for us, Natasha Davis.”

The pastor earned applause and verbal approval from the audience.

“I told you, I’m not your typical first lady,” she continued. “This first lady fight, and if I catch you in the street, I warned you. I warned you. I’m a Brooklyn chick, and that will never change. I’m just an anointed Brooklyn chick, and I’m coming for that ass.”

Gooden received tons of backlash for her controversial sermon.

However, gospel singers Haddon and Hammond were the very few who rushed to her defense.

Hammond commented, “The saints aint playing wit deez NEGUS!!!! You know I gotta touch this one!”

Haddon reposted a video of his wife, Dominique McTyer-Haddon, who understood where Gooden was coming from because her mom, a first lady, dealt with a woman who had an affair with her husband, the pastor. She said her mother tried to fight her while pregnant with Dominique.

She wanted to remind the nation that while Gooden is a pastor, she’s a woman.

“She feels attacked, or like somebody is trying to take something from her that is hers, her marriage…that she believes, her and her husband, that God put together. She has the right to defend that,” Dominique said.

She said Gooden’s approach may not have been the best, but she’s still human.

Haddon wrote in the caption that the pastor was hurt and reacted as she did out of pain.

“Let you find out some preacher woman was kicking it with your husband the Saturday before you have to preach on Sunday! That message is gonna be a tough one!” Haddon wrote.

Gooden took to social media to say “sorry.”

“I’m not blaming anybody. I’m not doing anything but saying I am sorry. I don’t apologize; I’m sorry,” she said. “When you say I’m sorry, it comes from a different place. Anyone can give an apology, but I am saying I am so sorry that I spoke out of line.”

In another video, Gooden explained that she was thankful she gave at least someone hope.

“That I do not have to stand back and let this happen,” she said. “I don’t have to sit back and watch something that I love so dear be attacked. I have a right to stand up for myself. I don’t have the right to do it in a certain way; we’re going to deal with that. But I have a right to stand and protect what God says is ours.”
