Tina and Ike Turner’s son Ronnie Turner has died at age 62 and wife, French musician Afida Turner, said ‘This is a tragedy.’ 

According to TMZ, Afida announced his death via an emotional Instagram post on Dec. 8. 

“MY GOD RONNIE TURNER A TRUE ANGEL, HUGE SOUL, HIGHLY SPIRITUAL. MY HUSBAND, MY BEST FRIEND, MY BABY. I, YOUR MUMMY, YOUR NURSE, [AND] I DID THE BEST TO THE END. THIS TIME I WAS [NOT] ABLE TO SAVE YOU. LOVE U FOR THIS 17 YEARS, THIS IS VERY VERY VERY BAD,” she wrote in the post’s caption. “I AM VERY MAD [angry emoji]. THIS IS A TRAGEDY U WITH YOUR BROTHER CRAIG AND YOUR FATHER IKE TURNER AND ALINE REST IN PARADISE [prayer hands, heart, crying, and broken heart emojis]. SO UNFAIR.”

Law enforcement sources reportedly told TMZ that they received a 911 call, on Dec. 8, from someone who said Ronnie was outside their home and having a hard time breathing. A few minutes later, the caller said, he stopped breathing. Paramedics then rushed to the San Fernando Valley address, where bystanders were seen doing CPR on him. Sadly, their attempts didn’t work, as he was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Very little is known about the cause of Ronnie’s death. However, it was reported that he had been struggling with health issues for several years, including cancer. 

One of Ike and Tina’s four sons, he was born in Los Angeles on Oct. 27, 1960. The 62-year-old made a name for himself in Hollywood with a role in the 1993 film, What’s Love Got To Do With It—a biographical film based

on his mother’s life and iconic career.

Ronnie’s brother, Craig Turner, tragically died by suicide in 2018. Tina gave birth to Craig before meeting Ike, but the now-deceased musician adopted Craig once they wed.
