Ice Spice Faces Backlash From ‘Disgusted’ Fans for 16-Year-Old Twerking in New ‘Deli’ Music Video

Ice Spice is currently under fire after fans spotted 16-year-old TikTok content creator, Aya Tanjali twerking on a counter in her latest music video “Deli.”

Fresh from the deluxe version of her EP Like…? that dropped Wednesday, the visuals for the music video features the rapper taking over a NY deli twerking and throwing money on her friends while they shake their ass on the counter.

While the video seems like harmless fun for the rapper and others included in the video, Ice Spice fans couldn’t help but express their disappointment over seeing Tanjali twerking in several instances throughout the video. Aside from the minor twerking on the counter, she was also spotted bending over twerking with the rapper in the street while slapping Ice Spice’s ass simultaneously.

Despite the excitement surrounding the release of the video, which currently has over five million views at the time of this writing, many Ice Spice fans were left feeling upset over Ice Spice choosing to show the 16-year-old twerking in her music video.

“Having a minor twerking in this video is pathetic even for you. Disgusting,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “Yeah you [sic] mad weird for having a 16-year-old child doing all that in your mv [music video] I’m not gonna even hold you,” another shared. “I’m actually kinda [sic] disgusted that Ice Spice had that lil [sic] girl twerking in her music video but let me not say too much,” another person shared on Twitter.

Since the release of the video, Twitter users added a disclaimer to the Ice Spice tweet, warning viewers that the visual does display a minor dancing in a sexually provocative minor: “

Viewers should be warned this video features a minor dancing in a sexually provocative manner, which may violate state and federal laws. One of the dancers in this video is 16 years old, a fact likely known to Ice Spice, as the two follow one another on Instagram.”

The rapper has yet to respond to the backlash surrounding the music video.
