Ice Cube Almost Killed A Man For Swindling His Mom Out Of $20

During an interview on In Depth With Graham Bensinger, iconic rapper Ice Cube revealed that he and his friends almost killed a man for conning his mom out of $20.

Cube said that back in his school days before he was

famous, a known drug addict swindled $20 from his mother. Cube said that he went to school with the con man and knew that he had no plans to repay his mother.

The “Straight Outta Compton” rapper was so angry that he and his friends went looking for the man and planned to kill him for taking advantage of his mom.

“Somebody I knew and went to school with — who we knew was ugh heavy on drugs — had went around to my house and gave my mother some cockamamie story, so she gave him $20, and I was so mad. You, you violated me and my family because you knew you were never gonna give that $20 back.

“Me and my friends was going around the corner to kill him and um he wasn’t home, so. Thank God. you know. Thank God he wasn’t home.”

“We were young, and we was mad, and we had a weapon, and it was going to happen, so. It woulda been stupid and I wouldn’t be sitting here if it did happen,” adding that it would have changed the trajectory of his life. “I’m glad he wasn’t there because nobody should die over $20.”

Of course, Cube went on to be one of the biggest rap stars in the world with NWA as well as an acclaimed actor.

The 52-year-old’s film debut in John Singleton’s Boyz N The Hood, premiered in Los Angeles in 1991 and was nominated for two Academy Awards. The film was a commercial success, and the actors were also credited for their raw acting in the film.
