“I Was Gonna Bless You,” Da Baby Calls Out Candy Sellers On The Street Charging $200 Per Box

Da Baby recently ran into two boys selling candy on the street, apparently for donations, and quickly called their bluff on overcharging him for the goods.

In a series of Instagram stories obtained by The Neighborhood Talk, the “Suge” rapper reportedly encountered a group of teens who claimed that they were selling the candy for $200 per box, causing Da Baby to question them about the high prices on camera.

Holding boxes of Fruit Gushers and Sour Skittles candy, one of the young men told Da Baby that they were raising money for donations. After hearing that they wanted $200 dollars for one box of candy, he can be heard in the video,

saying, “$200? What you charge for them?

“So add this up. How is this $200?” he continued after hearing that they were selling the candy for two dollars apiece. “You make $400 off that? And you sell them for two dollars? Cap.”

Da Baby bought one from each box, offering them what appears to be a total of $4 while making sure to mention that they could have gotten more if they weren’t trying to “play” him.

Captioning his next story, “Y’all ll n****s blew it. Keep hustlin’ tho.”

He then straight up told them, “You gotta use your head, man. You was tryna play me. I was gonna bless you anyway. You would’ve gotten the two hundred. Now you got two dollars.”

Backing up Da Baby on social media, many users took to Twitter to support Da Baby in refusing to pay the $200 for the boxes of candy, with one person writing about the exchange, “I ain’t mad Da Baby at all. Lil dudes tried to charge him $200 for that lil $10 box of candy. If they would’ve kept it real, he would’ve blessed em. Play stupid games; win stupid prizes.”

Another person added, “34 bags of candy being sold for $2 piece = $200?? Nah, fam, the only thing da baby did wrong was record the sh**.”
