‘Heartbroken’ Bill Bellamy Claims He Was Forced to Miss His Father’s Funeral Because of Family Feud

The Bounce Back actor Bill Bellamy lost his father on June 8, unfortunately bringing to light some family drama that began with his father-in-law passing a few weeks earlier.

Bellamy opened up to TMZ about his sister secretly planning their father’s funeral on the same day of his father-in-law’s service. The 57-year-old comedian claimed that he was forced to miss his father’s funeral because his sister – Karen – orchestrated an “unauthorized” tribute for William Bellamy, Sr.

Allegedly, she made plans while the comedian was out of the country, with the intention of keeping it from him. She dated the service to occur the same day Bill planned to have his father-in-law’s funeral.

In a desperate attempt to attend both, TMZ reported there were “

documents filed in New Jersey, [and that] Bill actually attempted to get a restraining order which would force Karen to change the date, but he was denied.”

Law enforcement has no legal grounds to get involved in a civil matter.

The veteran comedian told TMZ this about the events, In the span of less than a month, I lost both my father William Bellamy Senior and my father-in-law Bernard Baker, Jr. These two wonderful men that have impacted my life and my family’s lives in ways that are beyond words. My effort to stop an unauthorized memorial service for my father, which was planned without my knowledge, was not successful. I am devastated my family has to choose to miss one service for another, no one should ever have to be in this position.”

“My father-in-law’s memorial service was confirmed back in May when he passed. There are no words to express how disappointed I am to not be a part of laying my father to rest but I look forward to celebrating my father’s life and legacy with my wife, his grandchildren and our close friends in our own time.”

He finished his statement with, ”Please pray for our families and give us the time to grieve and process these painful losses in private.”
