New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard Josh Hart married his longtime fiancée Shannon Phillips in Miami on Aug. 28. Mr. and Mrs. Hart were high school sweethearts at Wheaton High School in Silver Springs, Maryland.
The bride wore a custom Pedram Couture wedding dress, and the groom wore a black tuxedo with a satin lapel. Hart posted the formal wedding pictures to his Instagram account on Aug. 31.
The new Mrs. Hart also posted pictures on Instagram of the wedding and a picture taken while preparing for the blessed event.
Hart’s proposal on Dec. 27, 2020, was also on Instagram. He captioned the post, “My Love ❤️💍.”
The wife of Dallas Maverick JJ Redick, Chelsea Redick, helped Hart pick out the engagement ring, a beautiful square diamond ring with a diamond band.

For the proposal, Hart had a New Orleans gazebo elaborately decorated with hundreds of flowers and candles. A harp player was also present. Hart had tricked his soon-to-be-fiancée by telling her they were going to dinner with friends. Shannon later said that everyone involved in the surprise proposal were good actors.
“Josh kept asking me to come to Miami or to come to L.A., and normally when he goes on the road, he’s so ready for a break so I was like, Why does he keep asking me to come to places when he’s playing? But then I thought I was overthinking it. But he actually really tricked me!
“I got there, and I thought I was at a real event! One of the women from Wink Design & Events told me to come through the back because the front was blocked off, but now I know she was, like, really acting, and then I went inside and saw Josh. I’m like, Where is everyone? and the people from Wink told us we got there an hour early so we should come outside and get food. That’s when I saw the cameras flash,” Shannon said.
The romantic proposal went viral, and the couple was surprised to hear their engagement announced on ESPN.
