Actress Yara Shahidi just bought her own house in Los Angeles, California, and it’s pretty lavish.
The Harvard graduate gifted herself a $4.8 million Spanish-style home in La Cañada Flintridge, an affluent suburban area where well-known celebrities reside such as Donald Glover, Angela Bassett and How I Met Your Mother creator Carter Bays, The Dirt reported.
The house was built in 1984 and is 5,734 square feet, consisting of four bedrooms and five-and-a-half bedrooms. The lot size is 0.95 acres. The house features dual two-car garages with an entryway separating the two. Stairs lead guests to the courtyard with colorful tiles, beautiful gardens, a fountain, 20-foot ceilings, plenty of open space and hand-carved doors.
There are two master bedrooms, both with their own fireplace inside. The renovated spa-like bathrooms contain huge showers and soaking tubs. The kitchen, too, has been remodeled and is topped with quartz countertops and new appliances. Shahidi’s backyard is simple yet elegant with palm trees surrounding the patio and two staircases that sit alongside a swimming pool.
Shahidi was also blessed with a detached billiards room, which she could renovate and turn into something else.
The 22-year-old has been a part of the entertainment industry since she was a child, collecting her coins over the years. She has been included in advertisements for McDonald’s, Ralph Lauren, Target, Disney and more. Her big break, though, was when she won the role of Zoey Johnson in the ABC show Black-ish
, where she portrayed the oldest child of Andre “Dre” Johnson (played by Anthony Anderson) and Rainbow “Bow” Johnson (portrayed by Tracee Ellis Ross). Her siblings in the show were Diane (Marsai Martin), Andre (Marcus Scribner) and Jack (Miles Brown).Additionally, she continued the Zoey character in the show’s spin-off for young adults, Grown-ish.
