Good Morning America 3 has announced the removal of T.J Holmes and Amy Robach from ABC News on January 27 following the media uproar surrounding the pair’s office affair. According to the New York Times, the statement released by the network amicably let the former co-hosts go in a decision they eluded to be mutual.

“After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes about different options, we all agreed it’s best for everyone that they move on from ABC News,” The statement continued, “We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions.”

Entertainment Tonight reported that ABC hadn’t planned on making the decision to let Robach, 49, and Holmes, 45, go initially. The decision came after extensive mediation between the couple, staff, and executives to decide what was most conducive to the company’s success. The pair will receive a payment for the severance, although a specified amount hasn’t been determined yet. 

“No one wanted it to come to this, but derogatory information just kept coming up. Once the investigation went several weeks, most people knew that this would be the outcome,” The outlet reported, “

It is typical, usually if there is some kind of payout, you would sign, in many cases, a non-disclosure agreement in those agreements.”

“Basically, there’s been a lot of talk about them in the media, but it prevents you from talking about exactly what the settlement is…but I do want to point out that this case really does come down to the morality clause in each of their contracts, and that’s going to be the sticking point, right, on whether they’re going to get a settlement or how much of the contract they’re still going have to pay out the network.”

The outlet reported that up until more information is released, it’s business as usual at ABC.

As previously reported, co-hosts of Good Morning America 3, T.J Holmes and Amy Robach were exposed for having a long-standing work affair while still with their respective partners.
