Chile, this house arrest thing is just not cutting it for former Basketball Wives star Brittish Williams. The reality star complained in her court filing that the ankle monitor she’s forced to wear cost her a $30,000 deal with Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty.
According to Radar, Williams requested, amid waiting for her subsequent trial, that the judge modify the condition of her release. She claimed that the judge-ordered ankle monitor and curfew were “significantly hampering her career opportunities and preventing her from being as successful and productive as she might otherwise be.” One of the opportunities is a deal with Fenty.
“This lost opportunity cost Ms. Williams at least $30,000 with additional payments that would have been available for Instagram appearances and posts,” her request read.
Her lawyer stated that while she had other offers from companies like Fashion Nova and Pretty little Thing Clothing, “the offers from these companies were delayed due to the presence of the ankle bracelet,” costing her thousands of dollars.
Her lawyer also pointed out that Williams must make some red-carpet appearances and be filmed while on the Basketball Wives reality show.
“The presence of an ankle monitor creates a significant obstacle that makes it difficult for Ms. Williams to meet her obligations,” the lawyer wrote.
The lawyer also added that the ankle monitor is a problem with producers.
“The producers of the show do not want the ankle monitor to be visible,” he stated in the court document. “This creates stark limitations on the outfits and costuming that Ms. Williams can utilize. Ms. Williams does not engage in work for which she gets to choose her own outfits and clothes.”
Williams promised the judge that she would continue obliging by the rules but wanted the ankle monitor to be removed from her. So far, the judge hasn’t given a verdict.
The reality star’s prosecutors request that she go to jail for violating her court order by traveling without approval. The first trip was to Dallas in December 2021, in which she said the decision to travel was “last-minute.”
The second trip was for a friend’s birthday in Houston, and her reasoning behind that trip was that she never missed her friend’s birthday. The one trip Williams asked for approval was a trip to Mexico with the rest of the Basketball Wives cast, which was denied. Not only did the judge deny it, but he also asked for the celebrity to hand over her passport.
As previously reported by Sis2Sis, Williams was indicted in September of 2021 and charged with “five felony charges of misuse of a social security number, four charges of bank fraud, three charges of making false statements to the IRS, three charges of wire fraud, and three charges of aggravated identity theft.”
