A conservative Black woman on Twitter caught heat from a famous singer after she penned a problematic tweet comparing the entertainer to another singer.
Her tweet caused Jill Scott to trend on the social media platform on Thursday.
On Wednesday, Charrise Lane let her Twitter fingers do the walking and compared Lizzo to Jill. Charrise implied that one was decent (Jill) and the other (Lizzo) was trashy, posting side-by-side images of the two gorgeous singers. She also wrote that size didn’t matter when it came to dating; it was about class.
“Your size isn’t the reason Men won’t date you. It’s the level of class you have. For instance, let’s compare Jill Scott to Lizzo. Men, which one would you date?” Charrise asked.
In a follow-up tweet, the Florida resident did clarify that dressing provocatively as a performer was a far cry from going out in public showing your a**.
“Yeah, sure, as a performer, perform as raunchy as you want, whatever, but going out in broad daylight with your cheeks out is another level of coocoo.”
Jill wasn’t with the comparison. On Thursday, she replied to Charrise with a simple message.
“Stop that,” she replied with a gif of her Philly brother Kevin Hart.
Other women also responded to the problematic tweet.
Even actress Reagan Gomez entered the chat to school the conservative woman.
After getting dragged on the internet, Charrise doubled down on her stance.
“Whenever I make people on the internet mad, I just tweet pretty pictures of myself to remind y’all that you might disagree with my opinion, but I’m far from ugly,” she wrote on Thursday.
Charrise is entitled to her opinions, but the irony is hilarious. On her Twitter bio, she describes herself as “Pro Black Conservative” and “Mrs. Pick Me–” the latter description describing her as married. A quick survey of her Facebook account indicates that the good sis is single.
She wrote a post on April 17, saying, “I am a Black Woman who WILL Marry a Black Man.”
“The End.”
A deeper dive into Charrise’s background revealed that she was following in the footsteps of Republican mammy Candace Owens.
The 22-year-old Orlando, Florida native is an outspoken Trump supporter with plans to become an attorney. In an interview, she discussed how she could be pro-Black and pro-Trump.
“I think that they [pro-Black and pro-Trump] can go together. I mean, I am an example. How can you kill all these [Black] babies that adds up over time and then say you’re pro-Black? So for that, I would say yes, that can go together; you can be pro-Black and be pro-Trump.”
Ok, girl.
It would appear that Charrise should probably work on her love life instead of worrying about Jill or Lizzo’s– they are doing just fine.
