On June 10, comedian Gary Owen appeared on The Wendy Williams Show to talk about his new movie. But, because he sat down with the queen of celebrity gossip and is going through a divorce from his wife, Kenya Duke, he addressed some of the tension in his personal life.
Owen and his wife have been together, and when their intent to divorce was announced, Duke took to social media to air out the comedian’s bad behavior. First, she claimed
that her estranged husband was unfaithful, and then, she claimed that he was not maintaining his financial obligations to her and their children.About his divorce, Owen told Williams, “I’m not officially divorced.” Of course, Wendy Williams always knows which questions to ask, and when she asked about his children, he very bluntly answered, “I just wanna make sure there’s no child support.”
This was a side-eye-worthy statement, of course. Owen claimed that despite statements made by his estranged wife on social media, he is not a deadbeat father. He also said that he and his wife’s children are adults. Technically, that is true. His youngest child is 20-years-old. However, everybody knows that children don’t fully leave their parents’ pockets until at least 25.
When Wendy Williams asked Owen what caused the demise of his marriage, he hesitated then declined to answer. He then deflected and said a “big twist” in his divorce that is coming but that he cannot speak about just yet.
“It’s a doozy, but I can’t speak on it yet. But it’s big. It changed the whole dynamic of the divorce,” Owens told Williams. Owen said that the split was not a tragedy and that he is now “for the streets.” Allegedly, he was
for the streets well before the divorce.Gary Owen is starring in a new movie called “The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2.” We hope it does well so that he can run Kenya Duke her coins.
