Gabrielle Union Celebrates 50th Birthday With Surprise Bash In Tanzania, ‘I’m Just Floating On Gratitude’

Veteran actress Gabrielle Union recently celebrated her 50th birthday with a surprise birthday bash in Tanzania and said, “I’m just floating on gratitude.”

Gabrielle took to her Instagram page to share pictures and videos of the celebration on Oct. 30.

“Walkin[g] Into 50… Like A Champion [three trophies],” she wrote alongside the first video clip of her walking towards the camera. The ’90s dancehall song “Champion” is attached to the clip by famed Jamaican singer Buju Banton.

In the following video, Gabrielle shared footage of the festivities, which included her getting down with traditional dancers, taking pictures in front of a flower wall, and drinking with friends.

“I’m still processing the level of effort and planning that went into pulling off such an unbelievable 50th birthday party in Zanzibar, Tanzania and keep the details a surprise from my nosy self,” she wrote about the bash. “I’m beyond grateful for all of my loved ones who flew around the world to celebrate with me. How @dwyanewade @ronndarocksevents @dauniedaune got THE @lisalisall77 to come all this way to perform was unreal. Thank you, Lisa, for being so amazing to my Mom & reminding me that your childhood heroes can turn out to be as lovely as you imagined them. I’m just floating on gratitude and to know this is just our 1st stop on the #wadeworldtour2022 [world] edition. I’m the happiest seasoned gal around. Gabby’s husband, NBA veteran Dwayne Wade and famed radio personality Angie Martinez were among the festivities’ attendees. Her and Dwayne’s adorable daughter, Kaavia James Union Wade, were also in attendance.

In June, Sis2Sis reported that the veteran actress signed a deal with BET Studios through her production company, I’ll Have Another.

“We are thrilled to welcome multihyphenate superstar Gabrielle Union back to BET and to our newest endeavor BET Studios,” Scott Mills, Chief Executive Officer of BET, said in a statement.
