G Herbo Got Busted With A Loaded Gun

During a traffic stop in the River North neighborhood over the weekend, Chicago rapper G Herbo, whose real name is Herbert Wright III, was found to have a loaded handgun.

He has been charged with a misdemeanor count of unlawful use of a handgun, but no additional charges were filed regarding the alleged discovery of nearly 250 grams of cannabis.

Tactical officers noticed a Cadillac Escalade with a Montana license plate making a turn without signaling while patrolling the area around 5:45 p.m. on July 9. Upon approaching the SUV, they saw G Herbo in the back seat and observed him making movements with his hands towards the front center console. This is where they ultimately recovered the Glock .357-caliber handgun, The Chicago Sun-Times reported

.

The sitaution for G Herbo is not looking good, as in 2018, G Herbo was arrested on gun charges and pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of unlawful use of a weapon.

G Herbo was arrested because he did not have the necessary licenses to own or carry a gun.

At his court hearing, Judge David Kelly set his bail at $5,000 and ordered him to avoid carrying any firearms.

Despite his success in the Chicago drill rap scene and his involvement in charitable work, G Herbo’s legal problems continue to impede his rise to fame.

Additionally, authorities have noted that he is connected to the No Limit Muskegon Boys, a renegade gang faction composed of members from the Black P Stones and Gangster Disciples groups.

Cook County court records show that G Herbo has faced multiple criminal charges since 2014, mainly related to drugs and firearms, but many of these charges were dropped.

In 2019, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge and received a two-year probation sentence.

Additionally, G Herbo has been accused of several felony charges including conspiracy to commit wire fraud, aggravated identity theft, and making false statements in two related cases in federal court in Boston.

Federal prosecutors, G Herbo and his associates carried out a nationwide scheme that involved wire fraud and identity theft, which victimized businesses throughout the United States.

The indictment, which was unsealed in December 2020, claimed that they used stolen credit card details and IDs to pay for expensive meals, designer dogs, and private yacht and jet charters.

G Herbo was released on bond but was indicted again in May 2021 for allegedly lying to investigators about his relationship with a co-defendant named Antonio Strong, who was described as a rap promoter. Both cases are still pending, according to court records.

He is scheduled to appear in Cook County court on August 1.
