As Pose fans await the return of their favorite characters for the series’ final season, the actors behind the Golden Globe-nominated FX show will be honored for their work this Thursday, April 22. The Human Rights Campaign invited stars Billy Porter, Indya Moore and other cast members to their “Time For Equality Live” virtual event to speak and be receive their National Visibility and Impact Award.
Known for its groundbreaking portrayal of the LGBTQ scene in the 80s, as well as the HIV/AIDS epidemic that plagued the community during that time, Pose is going out with a bang during its third and final season. FX recently released a trailer for the finale, which shows a change in the traditional ballroom scene as well as the character’s trials with sickness and relationships.
Speaking on the show’s impact on the LGBTQ community why their visibility matters, Human Rights Campaign President Alphonso David stated, “…We at the Human Rights Campaign could not be prouder to honor this incredible show, cast and crew, and to thank them for the visibility they have brought to the LGBTQ community, particularly Black and Latinx trans women. ‘Pose’ has broken barriers since episode one, making it the perfect recipient for our National Visibility and Impact Award at our ‘Time for Equality’ event.”
Porter, who snagged an Emmy in 2019 for his role as Pray Tell, will be speaking at the event. Also in attendance will be Dominique Jackson, Mj Rodriguez, Steve Canals and Hailie Sahar.

Rodriguez, also known as Blanca on the show, released a statement to The Human Rights Campaign about their award, saying “Acting in a show that tells the story of so many incredible Black and Latinx transgender women like me has been an incredibly rewarding experience, as has hearing from viewers about the effect the show has had. ‘Pose’ will always have a special place in the hearts and minds of everyone the show has impacted.”
