Superstar Jennifer Hudson and actor Common are reportedly secretly dating.

A source told Radar Online that the romance began after the two worked on their forthcoming thriller, Breathe, in Philadelphia.

“Things took a romantic turn while they were filming in Philadelphia over the summer,” the source said. “When the day’s shoot wrapped, they’d always find their way to each other’s side.”

The unnamed source stated that the two kept contact even after filming for Breathe reached its end, seizing every opportunity their schedules allowed to spend time together.

As Sis2Sis reported in July 2022, Common and Hudson were spotted having dinner at a vegan restaurant called Vedge in Philadelphia, seemingly “cozy and flirty.” A source allegedly at the restaurant saw the pair “cuddling and giggling.”

Following their romantic dinner, the EGOT winner and Just Wright 

actor attended her annual back-to-school giveaway event in Chicago.

In December 2022, Hudson was spotted getting into Common’s vehicle in California, outside the singer’s talk show set, The Jennifer Hudson Show.

Before their alleged secret romance, the Breathe co-stars were in relationships. Hudson and wrestler David Otunga were together and shared their 13-year-old son, David until they decided to split in 2017. Common was dating actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish for a year before they called it quits due to busy schedules, a source stated.

Haddish disagreed with Common’s source’s statement about the relationship ending due to conflicting schedules. She expressed disappointment with the explanation his source was feeding the public.

“I was disappointed,” Haddish said. “I was very disappointed. I was like, ‘Oh, OK. ‘Cause that’s not what you told me, but OK.'”

Despite being seen out together, Hudson has denied dating rumors saying, “People create their narratives of it…we shot a film together, and he played my husband. We gotta eat in between that moments.”

The source added that Hudson knows about Common’s reputation, specifically about him being a “total flirt.” But Hudson doesn’t see anything wrong with it and is “having fun.”
