If you’re caught up on the 12th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, then you certainly remember Widow Von’Du, a Black drag queen that surprised guest host Nicki Minaj, RuPaul and millions of viewers with his unique fashions and singing voice.
Now Von’Du, whose real name is Ray Fry, faces multiple domestic violence charges for a Kansas City incident over the past weekend that allegedly involved him attacking his boyfriend in a brutal and bloody assault, TMZ reported.

According to TMZ, Von’Du’s boyfriend claims that the reality television star came home on Friday morning in an “intoxicated state.” He allegedly grew angry at him for sleeping over, even though he informed Von’Du that he would.
Then, he claims, the brutal assault started.
TMZ reported that Von’Du’s boyfriend told police he was punched in his face at least four times and strangled. Next, he alleged that he dragged him across the floor before shoving him into a nearby bedframe, which he claims caused him to lose consciousness and bleed heavily.

After managing to escape, he was admitted into a hospital and administered 14 stitches on his head and face, according to TMZ. Kansas City police then tracked down Von’Du and booked him into jail on Memorial Day.
But an alleged video of his arrest tells a different story. “As a Black man in this city, I am being arrested for defending myself in my apartment,” Von’Du apparently yelled while in handcuffs. “And just because his a** got beat up because he would not leave when I asked five times, I’m being arrested.”

Von’Du was charged with one count of first-degree domestic assault and three counts of second-degree domestic assault. Though he was able to post $5,000 of his $50,000 bond on Tuesday, PEOPLE reported that his next court appearance is coming soon on June 7.
Until then, the RuPaul’s Drag Race alum is on house arrest and banned from contacting the victim or witnesses to the assault in any way.
