Comedians D.L. Hughley and Mo’Nique are battling it out in a feud over an alleged contract dispute.
On May 28, both Hughley and Mo’Nique performed in “The Comedy Explosion” at the Fox Theater in Detroit.
Mo’Nique, 54, used her time on set to call out Hughley for a headlining contract dispute. Allegedly, her contract said that she was supposed to headline the event. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
“That’s what the motherf*cking contract says… ‘Mo’Nique is to be the last motherf*cking person on the got d*mn stage. She is the headliner. That’s what I signed the contract for.”
She then goes in for the kill, saying, “What kind of real n*gga would ever attack a got d*mned black woman?”
She even said she feels terrible for his entire family, saying, “N*gga, your name is D.L., what the f*ck does it stand for? How far are you bending over, n*gga? On the DL.”

Hughley did not hesitate to clap back at the comedienne.
He shared a post on Instagram with a photo of Mo’Nique’s role as Mary in Precious.
He wrote, “All you have to do is check the order of names on the ticket stub from last night, and you’ll see who’s confused. Against my better judgment, over the objections of my team and four other occasions where I said NO, I decided to take a chance and work with Monique. Oprah was the problem, Tyler Perry was the problem, Charlamagne was the problem, Steve Harvey was the problem, Lee Daniels was the problem, Netflix was the problem… Now it’s MY turn. At some point, it can’t be everyone else. IT’S YOU!! Lesson learned. I didn’t have anything personal against Monique… People paid a lot of money to laugh, not hear about your contract. Apparently, the role you played in PRECIOUS turned out to be an autobiography. I wonder who’s next…

It didn’t take Mo’Nique long to respond by posting her own message on Instagram, with a photo of Hughley’s post.
She wrote in all caps, “The fact that you point the people to the ticket stubs for the order of the names versus to your contract implies that you don’t have a contract that shows you are the headliner like I do. Either show your contract or be quiet.”
Mo’Nique continued, “But I thank you, DL, because you’re the reason why I fight for my people like I do. Anytime you opened for the King’s Of Comedy, and I was the headliner for the Queens of Comedy, and you think you should close the show over me is a prime example of the bias that Black women have to deal with in this business. I won’t even discuss awards.”

Hughley wouldn’t let her response slide. He responded with photos of the event announcement, “Answer me this…When have you ever seen the “Headliner” at the bottom and mentioned last? The confusion is with whoever gassed her up on premium octane. Now, back to this stogie and bourbon. Y’all ain’t f*n my Sunday up. #TeamDL #talktoyourpeople”
