“Lean Back” rapper Fat Joe took to Instagram to address Irv Gotti’s recent comments on Drink Champs about Ashanti. Calling Gotti a “sucka” for some out-of-pocket words about finding out that Ashanti was dating Nelly. 

Fat Joe said, “Irv Gotti is a sucker, man. He a sucker.”

He posted the almost hour-long video on his Instagram. “Y’all can @ Irv Gotti, Ja, whatever the f*** you want,” he persisted. “Whatever Irv has with Ashanti is 20 years old, right? I know he was making some points that mean a lot to him. But when you keep ranting about somebody 20 years later, it felt like he’s not over the young lady, right?”

Gotti had brought up during his interview how emotional he felt when he learned that his long-time crush Ashanti was dating another, despite the fact that Gotti was married already at the time.

“It’s okay if it’s in a documentary,” Joe added because Gotti was promoting his new documentary on Drink Champs at the time. “You gotta see your truth in your documentary. But to go to Drink Champs and to keep calling her a b****, keep disrespecting … Um, guys, I’m not gonna be the guy to ‘stand up for Ashanti, the brother that’ … Ja Rule was standing right next to him. And so I’m not gonna be that guy. But I’m not telling stories about a girl I was with 20 years ago. In fact, I hope you die. F*** you, b****. Leave me alone, right? So, when you doing this, it looks like you caught up, you ain’t get over [it].”

Fat Joe brought up the fact that Ja and Ashanti often refer to each other as siblings, and Ja said nothing when Gotti was going off. 

Ja quickly responded on Instagram to the dig.

“STOP saying I didn’t defend sis and all women when I clearly told Gotti to stop calling Ashanti/women the B word same way I told Joe at Verzuz. Watch the interview before you talk s***… NOW LEAVE ME TF OUT THESE GROWN FOLKS BUSINESS,” he wrote along with a heart emoji.
