Former Fugee Lauryn Hill appeared on Nas’ new album “King Disease II,” and fans couldn’t help but share their reactions to the song.
The “If I Ruled The World” duo came back with another hot track. Nas released a follow-up to his Grammy-Award winning 2020 “King’s Disease” on Friday, August 6. On the ninth song on “King Disease II” titled “Nobody,” Lauryn Hill was not only featured, but she spat hot fire over several bars. One verse, in particular, seemed to be Hill’s response to fans who have commented on her past “tardiness” to on-stage events.
Listen to what she had to say:
“My awareness like Keanu in The Matrix/ I’m saving souls, and y’all complaining ‘bout my lateness. Now it’s illegal for someone to walk to in greatness,” she said in the rhyme.
According to Atlanta Black Star, Hill has received complaints about showing up to her shows late anywhere from 20 minutes to upwards of two-and-a-half hours.
Hill made it clear she was unbothered by her fans’ comments about her coming late on stage in her verse. It sent Twitter into a frenzy.

“Now let me give it to you balanced and with clarity. I don’t need to turn myself into a parody. I don’t do the shit you do for popularity.”
– Ms. Lauryn hill

Other folks weren’t trying to hear it and were “clocking” Hill left and right.
I see LAURYN HILL is still justifying being 3 hours late for her shows and cutting down a 2 hour set into a 45 minute one…MA’AM people paid for u to come entertain them at a specific time..what INVESTMENT do they have in your SPIRITUAL ENDEAVOURS? pic.twitter.com/WRmIM1EZvz

Of course I’m very happy to hear that Lauryn Hill is back, and yes I’m still going to clown for being hours late to her shows. Both feelings can exist at the same time.

Lauryn Hill missed the point. Yes, we complain about your lateness because we paid hundreds to see you, got babysitters, took off work for you to show up 6 hours late or not at all.
It’s tacky.
