Fans May See Sean “Diddy” Combs And Jermaine Dupri In A “Hit For Hit” Battle

A battle may be brewing between Bad Boy Records and So So Def founders Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jermaine Dupri. On Instagram Live, the two engaged in banter and agreed on getting together and having a “Hit For Hit” battle instead of battling it out on Verzuz.

“J.D., if you want that smoke, you can get that smoke anytime,” Combs said to Dupri, who began interrupting the Bad Boy mogul by telling him to “relax.”

“Since we ain’t f**kin’ with Verzuz no more cuz they f**kin’ around with our boys,” Combs said. “You know what I’m saying? We don’t need to be against each other. Let’s come together and do that Bad Boy, So So Def in Atlanta…It ain’t no Verzuz, it’s just hit for hit.”

Dupri agreed to the battle.

Dupri and Combs are boycotting Triller due to their legal battle with Timbaland and Swizz Beatz, who created the Verzuz battle series in March 2020, NBC News reported

. The duo sued the platform for a little over $28 million and alleged in their lawsuit that Triller didn’t pay them. Originally, the company agreed to pay the two $18 million to share evenly in January 2022. They have not made one payment. So, the price increased.

Many creators have previously complained about the platform failing to deliver on their payment promises.

In 2020, Dupri and Combs have brought up them doing a battle on Verzuz, Dupri saying they would “break the internet,” causing Combs to respond by saying Dupri didn’t have enough hits.

So far, it’s unclear if Verzuz will return and if it does, it’s uncertain if the show will remain on Thriller or move elsewhere.

The Dupri vs. Combs hit-for-hit battle has no release date right now, but hopefully, it’s coming soon.
