Eve On Maternity Leave From ‘Queens’ In London

Eve will be on maternity leave in London from her new television show Queens. As Sister 2 Sister reported, Eve and her husband Maximillion Cooper announced her pregnancy on Oct. 15.

Eve lived overseas with her husband and had been traveling to Atlanta to film Queens. The actress and rapper also has four stepchildren in the UK.

ABC has written her maternity leave into the storyline, according to Deadline. They also made adjustments to film scenes before Eve went on maternity leave.

The current season is 13-episodes, and the actress reportedly appears in most of them. And the hit show won a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

“Can you believe it @mrgumball3000 we finally get to tell everyone!!!!! ❤️ You all know how long we’v been waiting for this blessing!!! We get to meet our lil human February 2022 🥰.”

The Grammy-Award-winning artist stars in the brainchild of writer Zahir McGhee and Tim Story about a  female rap group from the 1990s that reunite in their 40s. The show is number one on the Talkwalker Social Content Rating.

The actress and the rest of the cast spoke to Entertainment Tonight about their desire to be included in the show once they’d read the script. The show also stars Brandy, actress and singer Naturi Naughton and Nadine Velazquez.

Eve described discussing her character, Brianna, with McGhee, an executive producer of Queens

, before reading the script.

“We talked about it first, then I read the script and I was like ‘How did he do this?’ It was so good and I loved my character so much that I was like, I want to be a part of this,” she said.

“It’s funny,” she continued. “Because if someone had just asked me, ‘Would you want to be in a show about a group of rappers from the 90’s?’ I probably would’ve said no based off the question because we come from that era and it’s a big deal for it to be authentic and amazing and he’s done such a great job, it’s great I love it.”

Actress and singer Brandy noted that her first love was music, so the show was a natural fit for the Moesha actress. The singer said that she could also relate to her character as a mother.

“I felt like I could relate to my character Naomi, you know, being a single mom, trying to balance everything even though she doesn’t do a good job at it. I did a way better job at it but, balancing going after her dreams and having to raise a young daughter, that is something that I can relate to and I just loved it.”

Naughten commented on how naturally the women got along together after meeting each other during a dance rehearsal, while Velazquez also praised the script.

“I was actually just talking about how organic it was at our very first dance rehearsal. We were all like, ‘Girl where have you been all my life,” laughed Naughten.

“It read so good, it felt so good, I could see it,” said Velazquez. “I was inspired by it, I was gitty about it, and I couldn’t even believe that it was being presented to me,. It all kinda came together so magically, too.”

Eve’s cast-mates have been supportive of the actress and helped by adjusting their schedules for the mom-to-be, who is due in February.

Queens airs Tuesdays on ABC.
