Prior to the news of reality star Erica Mena filing for divorce from Safaree, the Love & Hip Hop alum dragged Wendy Williams for her on-air comments about her tumultuous marriage, even threatening to fight her. But now that she’s called it quits, Mena has apparently changed her tune. The 33-year-old relayed a message to her friend and famed dancehall artist Spice to give to the talk show host during a recent appearance, telling Williams that she was, in fact, right about Safaree.
Williams spoke her two cents about Mena and Safaree’s relationship last month, following the former couple’s pregnancy announcement.

According to The Shade Room, she congratulated them on their new addition, but then claimed that they both need to “grow up” for the sake of their children, saying “And you all need to stop fighting and threatening divorce so much. And you all need to grow up and grow into being parents and if you’re not gonna want to be married then just get a divorce and co-parent. Babies don’t save marriages but good luck with at least your first six months.”
Clearly feeling attacked by Williams’ comments, Mena fired back on her Twitter saying, “@WendyWilliams At this point let’s link up so I can beat your ass. Your ex-husband didn’t do a good enough job.”
Invited to the Wendy Williams Show last week were Shaggy, Sean Paul and Spice, who recently collaborated on the dancehall summer hit “Go Down Deh.” But as the conversation steered towards the Love & Hip Hop franchise and how Williams thought the reality show’s storylines were corny, Spice, who was featured on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, revealed that she had a “message” for her from Mena herself.
Saying that the message was given to her three days before her Wendy Williams Show appearance, Spice claimed, “She said to tell you that you were right. I don’t know what you said about Safaree or whatever you said,” while being met with a shocked crowd.
“Thank you. I said, ‘Don’t have him in the birth room when you deliver. Divorce him and go on with your life while you’re still young.’” Williams
replied back, adding “I like Safaree, but you know…he’s trouble.”According to legal documents obtained by TMZ last week, Mena claims that Safaree’s recent asking for shared custody is for “good publicity.” She also allegedly stated that he “failed to be involved in her care or to visit her at the hospital during her most recent stay, where she remained overnight for many days related to her pregnancy.”
