Erica Mena Is A Single Woman, ‘I’m Officially Divorced’

Erica Mena is officially a single woman. The Love & Hip Hop reality star celebrated the finalizing of her divorce from rapper Safaree Samuels over the weekend in Florida. 

The 34-year-old mother of three turned up with fans at a nightclub called 7th and Grove for BLQQM Pride Weekend in Tampa. 

Mena hyped up the lively crowd, saying, “Y’all know I’m in town for one muthaf***in’ night.”

“I said I’m officially divorced. We celebrating life, we celebrating freedom and we celebrating that we bad b******.”

The crowd went wild as Mena hit a celebratory twerk.

 

Although Mena and Samuels wed in a star-studded ceremony in October 2019, the couple struggled throughout their brief marriage. Infidelity rumors, outside babies and Samuels’ lack of interest in being a father and husband reportedly plagued their short union. Mena filed for divorce last May while pregnant with their second child. 

In December, Samuels declared that he wasn’t ready to give up on his family. 

“My energy was so f****d up,” he said on an episode of VH1’s Family Reunion: Love & Hip Hop Edition.

“I don’t know what’s wrong with me,” he added. 

Mena responded, “I just need time apart, so I figure things out for ourselves individually.”

“Maybe, let’s just take the relationship off the table and just focus on parenting, like being parents. How we’re gonna do this, you know what I’m saying?” 

Samuels reluctantly agreed, “Yeah, but I feel like I don’t want to lose you.”

 “You do. You have me. You just cut me out all the time. You cut me out all the time,” the 34-year-old reality star said. 

“I love you,” the father of two apologized for his past actions. “Sorry for anything I have done to hurt you.”

Mena appears to be taking her newly-single status in stride. She posted a photo of herself rocking a bright fuchsia cut-out catsuit on Instagram.

The caption was straightforward. 

“It’s my turn.”
