The hit-drama about gangster Bumpy Johnson, Godfather Of Harlem, has been renewed by Epix for season 3. Disney Television Studios’ ABC Signature produces the Epix series.
The series showcases a stellar cast headed by Forest Whitaker as Harlem gangster Bumpy Johnson. The cast also includes Giancarlo Esposito, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ilfenesh Hadera, Nigél Thatch, Lucy Fry, Antoinette Crowe-Legacy and Paul Sorvino. Swizz Beatz is a music producer on the show.
The second season’s finale broke the record for single title streams in one day on Epix. According to the network, the finale of Godfather Of Harlem was the highest-rated finale on Epix. The Last King Of Scotland actor is also a producer on the series.
The president of ABC Signature, Jonnie Davis, released a statement regarding the show’s renewal for the third season.
“We’re thrilled to bring this extraordinary group of artists back together for season three of Godfather of Harlem,” she said. “Forest Whitaker’s Bumpy Johnson is one of television’s great antiheroes and we can’t wait to see what the brilliant creative team led by Chris Brancato and Paul Eckstein have in store.”
Epix posted a teaser announcing season 3 on Instagram on Jan. 13.

Whitaker is thrilled about the show’s renewal for season 3 and said he was excited to get back to the show’s set.
“I’m thrilled to be returning to my show, working alongside our truly incredible cast, crew, and writers, as we tell this unique and powerful story,” said Whitaker. “I can’t wait to get back to set, and thank Michael Wright, Epix, ABC Signature, and our dedicated fans for their support.”
Season 3 will follow Johnson as he battles the Cuban and Italian mafias and the CIA.
