Eddie Murphy’s Daughter, Bria, Married Actor Michael Xavier

Bria Murphy, Eddie Murphy’s oldest daughter, tied the knot with now-husband Michael Xavier Saturday afternoon in an exclusive wedding in Beverly Hills. How long they’ve been together is uncertain since they didn’t post each other until their engagement.

PEOPLE reported that Eddie, 61, and Bria’s mother, Nicole, escorted her down the aisle, and the married couple exchanged “I do’s” in front of 250 close friends and family.

The 32-year-old bride wore a Netta BenShabu-designed long-sleeved white bridal gown, and the 36-year-old groom wore a tuxedo created by Dion Lattimore.

In a wedding photo from PEOPLE, Bria and Xavier stood facing each other with Xavier’s hand around her waist. Another picture had the bride sitting on top of the groom’s lap, smiling. Bria’s parents posed with the couple in another shot, with Nicole adorned in a silky velvet gown. Eddie and Nicole joined Bria in a small family photo with the bride standing between the former couple.

The wedding photos aren’t on Bria and Xavier’s Instagram, but they did share engagement photos.

In December 2021, the actress shared a few pictures announcing their engagement with the caption, “My heart, my best friend, my forever. I love you, always.”

Xavier did the same and captioned his post, “Forever my love,” followed by a heart and ring emoji.

Bria’s 33-year-old brother, Eric Murphy, attended the wedding along with his date and 26-year-old girlfriend, Jasmin Lawrence, Martin Lawrence’s daughter. According to People, the Bad Boys comedian’s offspring caught Bria’s bouquet when she tossed them to a crowd of unwed ladies.

Eric took to Instagram to express his excitement for his sister and Xavier’s newest chapter in their lives and gave a “shout out” to his girlfriend for catching the bouquet, and implied the old wedding folklore that another wedding may be brewing through the emojis he used, flowers, eyes, winking face and red heart. The two became public with their relationship in June 2021.

During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, the host brought up Jasmin and Eric dating, asking if both families are hoping the two would have a “comedy super baby” and if the two veteran comedians talk about their children’s relationship.

“No, we haven’t talked about it,” Martin said. “We kind of just stay out of their business and let them do their own thing and respect their thing.”

The topic of Jasmin and Eric ended with Martin saying he would leave Eddie to pay for the wedding if the two decide to get married.
