Dr. Dre’s Homeless Daughter Starts GoFundMe Campaign And Gets Little Help

Dr. Dre’s daughter, LaTanya Young, has started a GoFundMe campaign. The mogul rapper’s daughter is a homeless mother of four who has lived out of her car. Unfortunately, her fundraising campaign has seen little positive response.

Sister 2 Sister previously reported that Young is in severe financial disarray and that the rapper-turned-super producer is not assisting her.

In a December 2020 exclusive with DailyMail, Young alleged that she hadn’t seen Dre in 17 years and was a nursing student at the time.

In early August, Young spoke with DailyMail again, and her situation was no better.

In her August interview with DailyMail, she did admit that Dre helped her with her rent until January 2020. For the last 18 months, she has been without any financial assistance from her father.

Unfortunately, Young is not receiving the support that a woman in her situation would be expected to receive, perhaps because Dr. Dre is her father.

Seven days into her GoFundMe campaign, she has raised just short of $6,000. Her original goal is $50,000.

Young, who is working for Door Dash, Uber Eats, and a warehouse job, rents a car that she is sure will be repossessed soon due to non-payment. As a homeless person, that is the only shelter she has.

“The car is a pretty penny… It’s an SUV that costs $2,300 for three weeks, and I only paid for one week. Sooner or later, they are going to take the car,” Young said.

Though many people have offered moral support, little of it has translated to dollars and cents.

Some have judged the situation to not be as severe as it seems since Dre is quite successful.

Dr. Dre. is worth an estimated $800 million and was just ordered

to pay his ex-wife $3.5 million a year until she remarries. To many, the answer to LaTanya Young’s problems is only a phone call away, despite the estrangement.

However, family dynamics are not linear and while only being one phone call away is a reality for many. Clearly, that is not the case in Dr. Dre’s family.

Dre. has not publicly offered a response to the situation.
