Dr. Dre Finalizes Divorce From Ex-Wife, Celebrates With ‘Divorce AF’ Balloons

The music executive finalized his divorce from now-former wife, Nicole Young, of 25 years.

According to an Instagram photo posted by one of his associates, rap icon Dr. Dre started celebrating after he finalized his divorce from his now-former wife, Nicole Young, of 25 years.

Music executive Breyon Prescott shared the photo, displaying the Compton native posing cheerfully in front of balloons that read “DIVORCED AF.” Prescott captioned the photo: “Hey Well My Brother @drdre Just told Me It’s Final!!! Congrats.”

He ended it with a champagne bottle emoji, adding “Still Dre” with a goat and bicep emoji.

For some time now, Andre (“Dr.Dre”) Young has been battling an ugly divorce from Young, with whom he has two children.

The unresolved conflict began on April 1, 2020, when, in court filings, Young stated that Dr. Dre kicked her out of their home during an alcohol-induced rant. She also mentioned several other incidents of abuse, all of which Dre denied, The Grio reported.

According to a Daily Mail report, the 56-year-old was ordered to pay his ex-spouse more than $3.5 million per year until she marries or enters into a new domestic partnership. He must also temporarily pay for her health insurance.

While Young, a former attorney, had contended the legality of their pre-nuptial agreement in June 2020, she also claimed the music producer had torn up the documents after they were married to prove fidelity.

The divorce resulted in several adverse incidents, including the rap mogul being served with divorce papers while grieving the loss of his grandmother and visiting the cemetery during the funeral service in October.

After receiving the documents, Dre was supposedly so upset that he refused to be served, and the server possibly left the papers at the gravesite. The forms reportedly explained that he is responsible for paying his soon-to-be former wife the balance of $1,224,567 for her accrued attorney fees, The Grio reported.

In January of this year, the legendary rapper spent over a week in the intensive care unit at Cedar Sinai Medical Center after suffering a ruptured brain aneurysm.

During his recovery, Dre thanked his supporters, writing on Instagram: “Thanks to my family, friends, and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”

The former couple shares a son and a daughter — Truice, 24, and Truly, 20.

Earlier this summer, Dre’s estranged daughter, LaTanya Young, 38, went viral after revealing she was homeless, living in her car, and had not seen her father in more than 18 years.
