Donnell Jones Survives After Driving Into A Ditch While Falling Asleep At The Wheel

Veteran R&B crooner Donnell Jones recently survived after driving into a ditch while falling asleep at the wheel.
Donnell shared his spooky experience via an Instagram post on Jan. 10.

“I fell asleep while driving yesterday and ended up in a ditch…I walk away with no injuries, but I learned a valuable lesson, That if you’re tired, just park the car cause this could’ve been bad,” he wrote about crashing into the ditch.

He added that he knows he’s “truly protected”–even behind the wheel–but he “needed” his latest experience to show him how much God loves him.

“I know that I am truly protected, but I needed this experience…. Thank you, God, for wrapping your arms around me as you have always done… My love and loyalty is to you.[prayer hands and perfect fingers emojis].”

Donnell has been very vocal about his love for God, as he shared another post on Dec. 27.

“Why live this life scared or in fear if you know God is real,” the post said.

In July, Sis2Sis reported that the “Where I Wanna Be” singer said he would go up against fellow R&B singer Joe in a Verzuz battle because “he’s worthy,” via an Instagram post.

Donnell took to Instagram on June 27 to share his thoughts on the popular music battle series and told his followers that Joe would be the only musician he’d compete with.

“Let’s talk about Verzuz. It’s only one person that I want to see. They gotta have uptempos. They gotta have ballads. They gotta have the whole sh*t. You know what I’m saying?” he said. “And it’s only one person that I want to see [and] that’s Joe,” he said. “The truth is that he’s worthy, so worthy.”

He added that if he battled Joe in a Verzuz, it would be a drama-free competition as some of the series’ matchups in the past were a bit hostile.

“It’s going to be some grown man sh*t. No disrespect, just love. That’s what we do. We show each other love. We ain’t on that bullsh*t [that] these young n****s [are] on, like that disrespectful sh*t. Come on, let’s go!” the veteran singer said.
