Don Lemon Gets The Last Laugh After CNN Ousts Chris Licht

It’s an oh-happy week for former CNN host Don Lemon now that news about CNN chair Christ Licht’s termination is out.

Anonymous sources enlightened Radar Online on Lemon’s uplifted spirits knowing the man responsible for his termination was fired by Warner Bros chief David Zaslav due to declining ratings, revenue loss and scandals.

The source asserted Lemon had been watching and laughing at Licht’s failure for weeks, but his termination was the cherry on top.

With Licht gone, Lemon would consider returning to CNN to boost ratings and return the network to its glory.

Lemon, 57, isn’t the only former CNN employee ecstatic about Licht’s departure. Chris Cuomo and Licht’s predecessor Jeff Zucker, 58, are also happy about his termination. They believe it’s a door to their former roles.

According to the New York Times, Zaslav fired Licht during a Wednesday morning walk in Central Park, the same way he hired him.

Zaslav notified CNN staff members about Licht’s termination two hours after firing him during a staff call.

“For a number of reasons, things didn’t work out, and that’s unfortunate,” Zaslav told staff members in the call. “This job was never going to be easy.”

Licht replaced former CNN boss Zucker in May 2022. So, he hadn’t been with the network for too long, yet things have been going downward for the network since he took the position.

Sources revealed that CNN’s ratings declined by an overall 35% since Licht started, which is embarrassing to its staff.

“People consider Chris to be the worst network head they’ve ever seen,” a source said. They wouldn’t be wrong.

Some of his significant downfalls since becoming the network’s boss were tweaking the time slots of some of the anchors and attempting to change the network to appeal to Democrats and Republicans. Recent proof of that is former President Donald Trump’s calamitous town hall broadcast by the network last month.

How is it that a left-wing network hosted a town hall with a right-wing former president, and the audience applauded everything the Republican said, especially when he called host Kaitlan Collins “nasty”?

If that doesn’t scream “setting your network up for failure,” then what does?

Additionally, how he handled the drama with Collins and Lemon most likely contributed to his downfall. Licht fired Lemon after reports surfaced of him allegedly screaming at Collins about interrupting him, Sis2Sis reported.

Licht overlooked Lemon’s professionalism and journalism skills to appease Collins instead of focusing on the good of the network.

In addition to firing Licht, CNN got rid of its top PR executives, chief of staff Devan Cayea, lead spokesperson Kris Coratti and strategic/crisis communications lead Matt Dornic.
