Dionne Warwick surprised her fans when she appeared for a guest cameo on Saturday Night Live on Nov. 6 for the skit “The Dionne Warwick Talk Show.”
Ego Nwodim has been playing Warwick in the skit for about one year, and the latest episode on Saturday Night Live had Nwodim playing Warwick as she talked to fictional guests Miley Cyrus and Jason Mraz.
Ed Sheeran also joined the skit, but it was 80-year-old Warwick that got fans buzzing. After Nwodim welcomed the real Dionne Warwick to the stage, SNL fans went wild.
“I’m so excited for you that I’m here,” joked Warwick.
Nwodim asked Ms. Warwick during the skit why she was so perfect.
“Darling, I’m not perfect; I’m just very, very good,” responded Warwick.
The hilarious SNL skit ended with Nwodim and Warwick singing “What the World Needs Now Is Love.” Warwick took to Twitter after the show to thank the cast and crew.
“I had fun at @nbcsnl Thank you to @eggy_boom (ME ), @Punkiejohnson (as @BrittaniWarrick), and to the writers, cast, and crew. I had a wonderful time with you all.”

The legendary singer has a new series in the works with Teyana Taylor set to play the music icon. Warwick posted a video of a message on Twitter saying that it was obvious who should play her.
This is a case for @netflix. Please don’t ask who I would cast to play me as it would obviously be @TEYANATAYLOR. pic.twitter.com/acGbBKGFfH

Warwick also has a new documentary out called Don’t Make Me Over and told ABC7 Chicago that she decided to do the documentary because she wanted to put rumors to rest.
“This really kind of puts to rest a lot of ‘Oh, I thought,’ now, you know,” said Warwick. “It hasn’t been all rosy. There have been a couple thorns here and there. People understand I’m as human as they are. If I could take one swoop of a paintbrush, I’d clear up all this madness we’re all going through right now. It’s unfortunate, but it feels exactly the same as it did in the 60s.”
