Diezel Braxton, son of 90s R&B icon Toni Braxton, has leaped into the next chapter of his life by graduating high school. He is also on his way to college.
Braxton made an Instagram post lauding Diezel for his accomplishment.
“Congratulations, @diezel.braxton! Mom is so proud of you. Howard University, here he comes!”

You read that right. Diezel is headed to the prestigious HBCU Howard University. This is impressive for any Black child but especially for Diezel, diagnosed with autism at an early age.
“Diezel’s journey has been struggling,” Braxton said in 2011 about her son. She said that Diezel started to show signs of autism when he was a toddler, namely social self-isolation But after years of work and help, Diezel improved drastically. He began to talk more, socialize with friends, and eventually was able to be mainstreamed into public school classes.
Braxton also expressed that she thought Diezel being autistic was her fault for previous pregnancy termination or her diet and supplement regimen.
In 2016, Braxton said she felt Diezel had been cured of autism because his symptoms were gone and credited his recovery to early diagnosis and treatment.
Diezel has not only achieved academically and socially but was signed to Wilhemina as a model in 2018.
With Diezel’s graduation, Toni Braxton will officially get a taste of the empty nest life. Her eldest son Denim graduated from high school last year.
Diezel Braxton and his brother Denim are the children of Toni and her ex-husband and Keri Lewis. The two were officially divorced in 2013. Toni may or may not be married to rap label mogul and iconic requestor of “respeck” Birdman.
Graduating from anything is a notable feat. We certainly wish Diezel all the best throughout his college years.
