Legendary hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs recently addressed longstanding rumors that he cheated artists out of money, saying, “I never took nothing from nobody.”

Diddy addressed the controversy via an interview with popular New York-based morning show The Breakfast Club on Oct. 5.

“First of all[There’s] been negative propaganda put out about me that’s not true and [it] really stained–tried to stain my legacy,” he told hosts DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God.

The Bad Boy Records founder continued, saying he didn’t like speaking on other people’s business but that he needed to tell his side of the story.

“I’m here to be a leader…If you think that I’m a scumbag that would ever steal anything–my name is Diddy. Sean Combs [and] I never took nothing from nobody a day in my life,” he said about the longstanding rumors. “All I’ve ever given is [opportunities] and more money than a person than a person was making.”

“You don’t steal from artists, is what [you’re] saying,” Charlamagne asked for clarification.

“Never,” Diddy confirmed.

“So how does the narrative become like that with so many different people,” Charlamagne inquired.

“Because people have this thing called the ‘tap out’ button,” the Harlem native responded. “When you get to a certain point, and the money is running low, you gotta run this hustle to try to find somebody to blame. I have all my receipts.”

Diddy added that his former artist, Mase, owes him $3 million and described him as a “fake pastor.”

Mase previously called out the 52-year-old on multiple occasions and even claimed he sabotaged him. However, it was just one of the numerous accusations of being a shady businessman against Diddy.

In 2021, he caught heat from hip-hop fans who claimed he failed to clear another one of his former artists, Black Rob’s GoFundMe page. Rob passed away from kidney failure a short time after.

Despite the rumors, the millionaire mogul mentioned that he will be working on a “special” with “all the artists” to set the record straight.

“We are gonna do a special, a retrospective with all the artists, and we’re gonna get this narrative clear because it comes from different tactics.”

On a lighter note, his son, King Combs, has been carrying his legacy as he performed “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” featuring Kodak Black at the 2022 BET Hip-Hop Awards.
