Motivational speaker DeVon Franklin is sharing relationship advice following his public divorce with actress Meagan Good.
Franklin and sex therapist Pia Holec are the newest relationship coaches on Season 15 of Lifetime’s Married at First Sight.
While on the red carpet for the BET Awards, Franklin shared just some of his tips for long-lasting relationships and marriages with the New York Post.
The 44-year-old said, “With everything that I’ve been through, I found that it’s important to resist the temptation to place blame in relationships. Take responsibility.”
He continued, “A lot of times in relationships, it’s very easy to say, ‘Oh, that person is the problem.’ No. Look in the mirror and say, ‘OK, what’s my part in this? And what can I do to make change in myself?'”
Franklin will join veteran relationship experts Pastor Cal Roberson, Dr. Pia Holec and Dr. Pepper Schwartz to help counsel couples on the show and share his perspectives on relationships.
“I learned that I have a lot to offer and that I’m passionate about love and relationships. And I do want to see people find their person.”
Franklin tied the knot with Good in June 2012, and the two announced their split on Instagram in December 2021.
In a joint post, they wrote, “After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected. We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal.”
