Married at First Sight, a reality show dedicated to helping strangers find their special someone, is heading into its 15th season with a new panel of relationship experts. Relationship advisor DeVon Franklin will join the highly-anticipated Lifetime series.
The relationship expert’s role is to provide newlyweds with the support they need to maintain a healthy marriage throughout an eight-week experiment. Over the last few years, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Calvin Roberson, and Dr. Viviana Coles have guided countless married couples on the show. However, since Cole announced her departure from the series, Franklin will join expert Dr. Pia Holec, a psychotherapist specializing in sex and couples’ therapy, People Magazine reported.
Franklin, a Hollywood producer and a New York Times best-selling author, has written four books, two of which were based on love and relationships. In 2019, he published “The Truth About Men: What Men and Women Need to Know,” and “The Wait” was co-written with ex-wife Meagan Good in 2016. The former couple was married for nearly ten years before Franklin filed for divorce in December 2021, Sis2Sis reported.
“After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected,” Good, 40, and Franklin, 43, said in a joint statement to People Magazine. “We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal. There’sThere’s no one at fault. We believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love.”
“We are incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we’ve spent together as husband and wife. We are also extremely thankful to God for the testimony being created inside us both and for blessing our lives with each other,” the statement added.
The season premiere of Married at First Sight, entitled “Matchmaking Special,” will air on June 22 and every Wednesday at 11 p.m. ET. Actress Keisha Knight Pulliam will also host the series after-party special.
