In a recent interview with Larry Reid, Destiny’s Child’s Michelle Williams said that it took her more than ten years to watch her performance on the show 106 & Park, where she fell on stage.
According to The Shade Room, the 106 & Park show featured artists and celebrities performing and interviewing.
The infamous night Williams referenced was during Destiny’s Child performance of their hit song, “Soldier,” and she fell during the live performance. At the time, she managed to quickly get up and continue with the performance.
Though the event happened years ago, the reputation of her being clumsy still follows her.
William said, “I need people to stop saying ‘she’s so clumsy.’ I fell one time.”
She continued, “That’s like causing PTSD. That’s probably why I ain’t gonna do no music. Y’all gonna hear me talk that’s it.”
“You know I only fell one time, there is no evidence of me falling any other time,” she said laughing.
She then admitted how traumatized she was about her past performance and said, “It probably took me 12 or 13 years to watch, that was bad.”

In her caption, she wrote, “I wanted to share my story in hopes that it would help others on their journey. Mental health is extremely important and we all have to do our part with supporting each other and erasing the stigma.”
