Deitrick Haddon Shuts Down Critics After Receiving Backlash For His Wife Twerking On Him

Gospel singer Deitrick Haddon and his wife, Dominique McTyer-Haddon, caught a lot of flack after a video displayed Dominique, a married woman, twerking on her husband.

The video occurred at Deitrick’s 50th birthday party, where the married couple enjoyed their time. Things got a little freaky when Dominique dipped lower to grind and twerk on her husband, who approved.

Unfortunately, viewers disagreed with a couple’s actions. However, Deitrick taught his followers that Christians could respectfully disagree.

“The next level for the church is to learn how to disagree without disrespect,” he wrote in a pinned Instagram post. “Some approve of me dancing in public with my wife, and others don’t, and that’s ok. In the words of the Stylistics, people make the world go round.”

The “Sinner’s Prayer” singer continued, “It would be so if we could celebrate our differences instead of demonizing everyone that doesn’t think like you. I still love ya, and there’s nothing you can do about it!”

Critics rushed to the comments to condemn the singer and preacher.

“Sir Deitrick, that video wasn’t and isn’t part of the Christian liberty. We could agree or disagree about that video was inappropriate for a minister like you are…if Jesus was you at 50, would he go clubbing and having his wife twerk on him in public? Ain’t we living the life of Christ here on earth? Ain’t we supposed to emulate the life of Christ?

@dhaddy I don’t know if you’ve repented of what you did. If you have, then you’re in my prayers cause I love you so much, sir. Your ministry affected my life as a kid, please. In the name of God, that video is not the Christ-life we preach.”

“It wasn’t just about the dancing. The lewd music, everything. It’s just strange to see a pastor and First Lady carry on the same way non-believers do. Definitely in the flesh.”

“It’s not that it doesn’t look like us, but It doesn’t look like God. It’s what the scriptures say, not what we think or feel. Give me scriptures on how this is ok, pastor.”

Other commenters jumped to his defense.

“I’m personally glad that you posted it. We don’t see enough of this in Christian marriages! Scandal-free, happy relationships with your spouse!!!”

“Big bro, you’re HAPPILY MARRIED, man, who was celebrating a BIG milestone with your WIFE who has been with you through the ups and downs!! Some of these “saints” forget that you can have legit fun with your spouse and still be saved. If anyone has a problem with a husband enjoying his wife, they can kick rocks. Love you, guys!!”

“Tell them to shut the faith up!!!! Or do I need to say the real deal???”
