Dave Chappelle Said He Will Not Apologize To Candace Owens For Calling Her A ‘Rotten B***h’

Comedian Dave Chappelle said that he would not apologize for calling conservative political commentator Candace Owens a “rotten b***h.”

The comedian trashed the political commentator after she defended Derek Chauvin and blamed George Floyd for his own death.

After Owens said that she was “sickened” by the idea that Floyd was made a martyr, Chappelle quickly put her in her place and reminded Owens that Black people didn’t choose Floyd. Chauvin chose him by murdering him in the street for being Black.

Chappelle spoke about Owens and Floyd during his 8:46 YouTube comedy special last year after Owens posted a video of herself blaming Floyd for his own death due to his drug use while spewing the usual white supremacist rhetoric she is known for.

“I don’t care WHAT George Floyd did. The officer should have never treated him like that and killed him! But we still must ask: Is he a hero….The fact that he has been held up as a martyr sickens me.”

Many had a negative reaction to Owens and her commentary, to say the least, and comedian Dave Chappelle was one of them. Chappelle addressed her comments in his comedy special.

“That rotten b***h, she’s the worst,” said Chappelle. “I can’t think of a worse way to make money. She’s the most articulate idiot I’ve ever seen in my f***ing life.”

Chappelle pondered if he should apologize to Owens during his podcast The Midnight Miracle, and he let his two co-hosts, Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli, answer for him.

The answer was, “F*** that!”

“So the verdict is no apology, right?” Chappelle said .

Chapelle also noted an unwritten rule that comedians shouldn’t apologize for their jokes. Comedian John Stewart doubled down and called Owens a provocative troll.

“Her life is provocation, her brand is provocation, that’s how she makes her money.” said Stewart. He added that rather than have a “genuine offer of argument and exchange of ideas,” Owens’ goal is to provoke and “troll that’s meant to increase brand recognition.”

Afterward, Chappelle apologized to Owens, sort of.

“By the way, Candace Owens, I’m sorry I called you ‘articulate,’” said Chapelle.
