Controversial rapper DaBabyâs upcoming New Orleans show has been canceled due to low ticket sales.
According to NOLA, DaBabyâs New Orleans show was canceled because ticket sales were reportedly âfewer than 500 for an arena with a concert capacity of 14,000 or more.â The concert was initially scheduled at the Smoothie King Center on September 2, with two special guests: Never Broke Again rapper NoCap and electronic music duo Showtek.
Tickets for the North Carolina artistâs show were sold for as low as $35, but barely any advanced tickets had been purchased. The event was removed from Ticketmasterâs official website, and its page now shows a cancellation message.
âUnfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event. No action is required to obtain a refund,â the message indicated. âIt will be processed to the original method of payment used at the time of purchase once funds are received from the Event Organizer, which is usually completed within 30 days. If the Event Organizer is offering a credit option, it will be visible within the Event Details of your order, which can be found in your Ticketmaster account. Please Note: If the tickets were transferred to you, the refund would go to the fan who originally purchased the tickets from Ticketmaster.â
DaBaby has been in hot water for the past few years, including his comments about the LBGTQ+ community, video footage of his alleged shootings and more. He most recently made headlines in April after a 2018 video of him allegedly shooting
someone in Walmart went viral. The âSugeâ rapper is reportedly set to headline the Paris edition of Hot 97âs Summer Jam on October 29 and the We Are One Festival in Houston, Texas, on November 12.
