DaBaby Loses More Bags From Governors Ball And Lollapalooza, Now He’s Apologizing

Rapper DaBaby was fired from performing at the Governors Ball in NYC, as well as Lollapalooza in Chicago, according to BuzzFeed. The rapper made homophobic remarks during his performance at Rolling Loud in Miami last month.

DaBaby’s homophobic remarks on stage about HIV and AIDS were vulgar and factually incorrect.

“If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, any of them deadly sexual transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, put your cell phone light in the air,” he said. “Ladies, if your p***y smells like water, put a cell phone light in the air. Fellas, if you ain’t suckin’ d**k in the parking lot, put your cell phone lights in the air.”

People with HIV do not die within weeks anymore and can live long, healthy lives with medication, The New York Times reported. Without medication and treatment, people infected with AIDS live

about three years.

The bold rapper received backlash from the LBGTQ community for his remarks, as well as from Madonna. Soon after, music festivals began canceling his performances. DaBaby was also dropped from the Day N Vegas and Parklife festivals.

The Governors Ball cancellation soon followed.

DaBaby’s performance at Lollapalooza was canceled on the same day the performance was to take place. The festival made a public statement on Twitter. Young Thug and G Herbo performed instead. Twitter also condemned the rapper.

“Lollapalooza was founded on diversity, inclusivity, respect, and love. With that in mind, DaBaby will no longer be performing at Grant Park tonight. Young Thug will now perform at 9:00pm on the Bud Light Seltzer Stage, and G Herbo will perform at 4:00pm on the T-Mobile Stage.”

And then came DaBaby’s apologetic non-apology. He posted a captionless post on Instagram on Monday. The obtuse rapper went on about how nobody pulled his coattails to educate him– despite his fans attempting to do so.  He also alluded to the situation being handled with kid’s gloves since he offered his fans that same grace.

Anyway, Jonathan (his government name) saw his bag getting light and decided to respond before it was empty.

Not only has DaBaby lost several performances at musical festivals, but he has also lost a clothing brand endorsement. The clothing brand boohooMAN cut ties with the rapper due to his homophobia.

“boohooMAN condemns the use of homophobic language and confirm we will no longer be working with DaBaby. Diversity and inclusion are part of the boohoo Groups DNA and we pride ourselves on representing the diverse customers we serve across the globe. We stand by and support the LGBTQ+ community, and do not tolerate any hate speech or discrimination in any form.- boohooMAN.”

Good luck, Jonathan.
