D.L. Hughley’s eldest daughter has responded to a video Mo’Nique posted to her Instagram account over a personal incident regarding her father and other family members.
The Baltimore native and Hughley have had an ongoing headliner dispute since “The Comedy Explosion” show in Detroit last month, Sis2Sis reported. However, many have accused Mo’Nique of going too far after she posted a video of the 59-year-old addressing sexual assault allegations involving his younger daughter on the “Shade 45” radio show.

Hughley’s daughter, Ryan Shephard, responded to the comedian in the comment section with a lengthy message condemning Mo’Nique for mentioning her sister and her mother in the post’s caption.
“Hi, @therealmoworldwide. I’m Ryan Nicole Shepard (D.L. Hughley and LaDonna Hughley’s eldest daughter). You’ve now publicly disrespected my mother—who I love and care for very much—and my baby sister—who I love and care for very much to get back at my father—who I love, respect and care for very much. At this point, I feel like you are asking my family and myself to act out of character,” she said in the comment.
Shephard called the Oscar award winner “disgusting” and “poisonous” and said that she was “two crayons short of the full box,” insinuating that she wasn’t mentally stable.
“Nothing is too far in your quest to prove a point, and I’m blessed that my parents raised children who have no idea how you could possibly go there,” Shepard continued. “We, Hughleys, are going to have a good a– day and a blessed life.”
On Saturday, Hughley reposted Shephard’s comment and assured his followers that there is love in his family.
“The love between our family is evident and clear, and while I’m beyond proud of the way my eldest daughter @brownsugarandbourbon handled this disgusting attack, this is not their fight. They have been repeatedly attacked for no reason. This needs to end,” Hughley captioned the post.

In 2015, Hughley appeared on XM satellite radio’s Shade 45 with host Sway to discuss Bill Cosby’s rape allegations. He admitted to not believing his daughter when she shared that his close friend sexually assaulted her.
“The reason it hits home to me is because my youngest daughter said something happened to her, and because it was somebody I liked, I didn’t believe her. I’ll never get that back. I’m supposed to protect her. I’ll never get that back. She told her father something, and he didn’t do nothing about it because it was inconvenient.”
Mo’Nique responded to Shepard, accepting her invitation to discuss the situation in person.
“brownsugarandbourbon Hey, Young sister, thank you for the invitation for a discussion. We would like to take you up on it. Because it could be very healing for our community. Have @realdlhughley set up a time for you, & your family & my husband & I to come on his show & we will go from there.
I love us 4real,” The Parkers star said.
